Wall players wait at home plate to pounce on Carly Layton after she hit a sixth-inning home run to put her team up 3-2 against Jackson Liberty in an NJSIAA Central Group III game in Wall on Wednesday.

Wall scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth, as the No. 4 Crimson Knights defeated No. 5 Jackson Liberty in a NJSIAA Central Group III quarterfinal game on Wednesday afternoon.

Alex Vecchio hit a two-RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Wall’s Carly Layton blasted a solo home run to give the Crimson Knights a 3-2 lead. Jackie Howarth recorded the win in the circle with six hits two strikeouts and one earned run.

Lauren Conroy finished with multiple hits for the Lions.

Middletown North 4, Nottingham 3: Christine Gebhardt went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored leading the No.2 Lions to a Central Group III quarterfinal win. Gebhardt also had an RBI, three runs scored, and recorded her 100th career hit.

Riley Kernan had an RBI single and got the win in the circle for the Lions, after seven innings pitched and six strikeouts. The Lions will play No. 3 Steinert in a Group III semifinal game.

St. Rose 10, Calvery Christian 0: Brianna McInerney pitched a shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out seven leading the No. 5 Purple Roses to a Non-Public South B first round victory.

Brianna Mccarren went 2-for-3 with a home run and a triple, and Jill.Barry also added a double and an RBI for the Purple Roses.

Mater Dei Prep 6, Wildwood Catholic 3: Jamie Luminoso went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI leading the No. 3 Seraphs in a Non-Public South B first round game. Paige Fernandez picked up the victory after seven innings pitched one earned run and two strikeouts.

Seneca 2, Lacey 0: Two unearned runs in the third inning led to a South Jersey Group III loss for the Lions. Despite the loss in the circle, Chelsea Howard finished with eight strikeouts, and Lacey center fielder Kayla Kohout went 2-for-3 with a stolen base.

Robinsville 4, Raritan 3: Trailing 3-2 the Rockets tied the Central Group II quarterfinal in the top of the seventh. Nicole Coppolino had a lead off single, Mackenzie Emery added another single, and advanced pinch runner Claire DeJoi to third. Ashley Marino hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 3.

Despite the comeback, the Rockets fell in the bottom of the ninth inning after a runner advanced to third and was eventually hit in by Megan Hevey.

Nicole Kirse finished with a home run two runs scored and a stolen base for the Rockets.

Delsea 3, Central 2: Despite the loss, Stephanie Pepper recorded 12 strikeouts in the South Group III quarterfinal game. ) Julia Voluntad picked up her 18th win of the season with 16 strikeouts for Delsea.
