FISHERSVILLE – Wilson Memorial improved to 6-3 with a 9-1 win over Luray on Wednesday in softball action.

The Green Hornets shattered a 1-1 game in the fifth inning with an eight-run outburst. Abby Taylor keyed the rally with a homer in the inning.

Hannah Johnson went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Wilson, while teammate Jordan Sondrol went 2-for-4.

Sondrol was also the winning pitcher, striking out nine.

The Hornets return to action Friday at Buffalo Gap.
