South Lyon hockey mercied Milford and tied Walled Lake Northern last week.
The week started with a game against the Knights, who had previously beaten South Lyon this year.
Tony Paugh scored a pair of goals and set up a third with Spencer Stanley lighting the lamp for a 3-2 lead after two periods. Joey Taiariol had two assists.
Northern battled back to get the tying goal in the third, and that’s how things ended.
“Goaltender Justin Zabinski was his usual excellent self, stopping a few breakaways and giving us a chance to win,” coach Bill McCreary Jr. said.
South Lyon 9, Milford 1
South Lyon United celebrated senior night Friday and buried Milford, 9-1.
Shane Agnello scored a hat trick and added a pair of assists for a five-point night. Paugh also had five points, with two goals and three assists. Other goals came from Bobby Kennedy, Austin Lanam and Taiariol.
Zabinski and Carlin Moynihan shared time in net for the win.
“Friday was senior night against a hard-working Milford team and the boys were determined to not let their fans down,” McCreary Jr. said.
