South Oldham football’s Brandon Elsbury voted Metro Louisville Athlete of the Week

Fans voted South Oldham running back Brandon Elsbury the winner of The Courier-Journal Metro Louisville Athlete of the Week Award presented by Norton Sports Health.

The sophomore rushed for 75 yards on six carries and scored four touchdowns to lead the Dragons to a 39-7 win at North Bullitt. Elsbury had TD runs of 2, 11 and 13 yards and also had a 50-yard reception for a score.

Last week’s other nominees included Shelby County’s Malik Manica, Manual’s Alena Sapienza-Wright and Fern Creek’s Jacob Teasley.

Each Monday afternoon, four new athletes will be posted here as nominees for the Athlete of the Week Award. Voting runs through 8 p.m. Sunday. The winners will be invited to the year-end Kentuckiana Sports Awards Program banquet presented by Norton Sports Health.
