Jake Logue, Liam Maxwell, Mike Sprague and Brennan Davis led the Southern Regional boys volleyball team to a come-from-behind, 2-1 Class A South victory on Tuesday night at Toms River North.
The Rams lost the first game 24-26, but rallied to take games two and three by the scores of 25-14, and 25-14. Logue finished with 13 kills and seven digs, Maxwell had 20 kills and 11 digs, Sprague had 33 assists and 10 digs and Davis added seven digs for the Rams (26-1, 8-0).
Toms River North was led by Daniel Dellane, Zachary Lynne and Nicolas Mercadante. Dellane had 21 assists, Lynne had 19 digs and Mercadante had 10 kills for the Mariners (10-6, 5-4)
Colts Neck 2, Long Branch 0: The Cougars (11-4, 8-1) won the Class A North match 25-14 and 25-11 as Chris Lomauro had two aces and six kills, Spencer Matthews had three aces, Mike Lamb had two blocks and four kills and Charles Morse had two digs, two blocks and three kills. Axel Perez had three digs and two assists, Jaquel Presley had three kills and three blocks and Rahmir Gordon Jones had three kills and two blocks for the Green Wave (3-12, 2-11).
Wall 2, Keyport 0: The Crimson Knights (7-8) won the Class A Central match 25-9, 25-7 as Andrew Penkethman had seven kills and two digs, Eddie Palluzzi had three kills and three digs, Patrick Cole two digs and 16 assists, Shaun Scott four kills and two blocks and Nicholas Palluzzi had five kills and five digs. Willie Torres and Kyle Lewis each had four digs and Gadiel Escobar had two digs for the Green Wave (0-10, 0-9).
Donovan Catholic 2 Manchester 0: The Griffins (11-6, 5-5) gained 25-11, 25-18 victories as Chris Eiserle had three kills, 19 assists and two aces, Kyle Schremmer had nine kills, two blocks and two aces and Kevin Singleton had nine kills and two digs. Ryan Hartnett had two kills, Kyle Pecora had five assists, Oladapo Somoye had two blocks for the Hawks (3-10).
Red Bank Catholic 2, Central 0: The Caseys (9-5, 6-3) won the Class A Central match 25-10, 26-24 as Bryce Sullivan had 16 assists, seven digs and two aces, Ike Isenhour added nine kills and seven digs and Tim Yachnik had four digs and three aces. Mike DelVecchio had seven kills and two digs, Nick Ropas had 12 assists and two digs; and Alex Rippman had three kills and three digs for the Golden Eagles (8-3, 7-2).
Freehold 2, Neptune 0: The Colonials (6-9) won the Class A North match 25-10, 25-16 as Riley Shea had seven kills and two aces, Joe McMerty had 18 assists and three aces, Jack LeMunyon had six kills and Ian Mesiner had two kills.
