Locals compete in all-star football game
DAYTON – The Ohio North-South Classic was held over the weekend at the University of Dayton’s Welcome Stadium and two coaches and seven players from north central Ohio were involved.
Coaching the North team in the small school game were Loudonville’s Justin Todd and Wynford’s Gabe Helbert. Playing for the North, which won 20-13, were Loudonville’s Kolton Edmondson and Tristan Bender as well as Wynford’s Cyle Skidmore and Austin Shutler.
Playing in the big school game on the 24-14 victorious North squad were Madison’s Juwan Howard and Ashland’s Drew Dickinson and Trey Smith.
Lucas needs volleyball coach

Loudonville hosting 2015-16 sports meeting
LOUDONVILLE – There will be a mandatory OHSAA 2015-16 sports season meeting for athletes at Loudonville’s high school and junior high. It will be May 18 at 6 p.m. in the high school gym. Anyone who plans to play sports next season should attend with a parent or guardian, and anyone who does attend this meeting will not need to go to the specific fall, winter and spring sports meetings.
Valley View golf leagues forming
CRESTLINE – Valley View is forming golf leagues for 2015. Women can play Wednesday mornings or Thursday afternoons. Men’s leagues will be Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Call 419-468-1226 for more information.
Shelby YMCA swim team starting
SHELBY – The Shelby YMCA is forming a summer swimming team to compete against other programs in the area. It is for kids in grades K through 12. There will be an open house May 11 at 6 p.m. with the first practice set for May 18. The team will be coached by Kevin VanBuskirk and Josh McKenzie. It is $75 for members and $100 for non-members. T-ball, coach-pitch baseball forming
SHELBY – The Shelby YMCA is forming T-ball and coach-pitch baseball leagues for boys and girls this summer. Practices are Tuesday evenings with games on Saturday mornings.
