Both the St. Mary’s Springs boys and girls track and field teams finished second at Friday’s Oostburg Invitational.
The Ledger boys finished with 96 points as a team, behind Kiel’s 151. Winnebago Lutheran finished sixth with 53 points.
Sam Spranger finished first in the 400-meter dash (51.03 seconds), Alan Burkart was first in the 800-meter run (2:08.99), the 4X400-meter relay took first (3:39.21) and Michael Buetow won the shot put (44-11.50).
Spranger was second in the 200-meter dash, Brady Kollmann (Winnebago Lutheran) was third in the 800-meter run and 1,600-meter run, Matthew Tadych (WLA) took third in the 110-meter hurdles and second in the high jump, Austin Feyen finished second in the shot put and the Springs 4X800-meter relay was second.
The Ledger girls were second with 139.5 points, behind Kiel’s 157.5. Winnebago Lutheran was sixth with 46 points.
Melanie Schneider finished first in the 200-meter dash (27.01), 400-meter dash (1:02.07) and triple jump (35-01.00). Liz Bohn won the 800-meter run (2:30.68) and 1,600-meter run (5:47.36), Megan McGovern took first in the 100-meter hurdles (18.10) and Lizzy Leichtle was first in the shot put (33-06.50) and discus (106-05).
Sarah Niehueser (WLA) was second in the 3,200-meter run and Anja Smith took second in the 300-meter hurdles. The Springs 4X800-meter relay took first, the 4X100 relay was second and the 4X200 and 4X400 relays were both third.
