St. Charles celebrates state title with parade

By

ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles basketball team celebrated their first state basketball championship since 1957 in style, with a parade around St. Charles.

The players were escorted around town in trucks and then brought back to the gym where they finished off the celebration.

Four members of that 1957 championship team, who were coached by Basketball Hall of Famer Gene Bartow, also participated.

Back on Saturday, the St. Charles basketball team made one of the greatest comebacks you will ever see. The team overcame a 21 point deficit to win.

For the players and their coach, Rick Foster, it was the perfect way for the senior class to end their high school careers.
