Jake Ohmer pitches shutout, Eagles beat South Warren 7-0 Thursday night

LEXINGTON, Ky. Covington Scott High School defeated South Warren 7-0 Thursday night in the Kentucky state high school baseball quarterfinals at Whitaker Bank Park.

The Eagles (23-11) are the third team to qualify for Friday’s semifinals. They’ll face the winner of Thursday’s late game between West Jessamine and Elizabethtown at 8:30 EDT.

Fort Thomas Highlands and Greenup County play in a 6 p.m. EDT semifinal.

Jake Ohmer improved to 7-1 for Scott, giving up just two walks and two hits and striking out seven. Teammate Eli Sowder drove in two runs.
