Post-Crescent Media’s Ricardo Arguello goes one-on-one with Appleton United (Appleton North) senior defenseman Michael Alfaro:
Q: There are some extremely high expectations for Appleton United this season. What is the feeling in the locker room with you guys? Are you aware of those expectations and how are you handling that pressure?
A: We are all handling it pretty well. We aren’t trying to get ahead of ourselves and are trying to take the season one day at a time. We know that nothing is handed us and we have to earn it each and every day.
Q: Your team advanced to the state tournament last season. What do you remember most about that experience?
A: The whole experience is general was pretty amazing. Being able to walk the streets with the team to go out to eat and just the whole atmosphere of playing in the Coliseum were very memorable.
Q: If you weren’t playing hockey in the winter, would you be playing another sport?
A: Yes, I would say I would be playing basketball.
Q: Congratulations! You just won an all-expenses paid trip for four to anywhere in the world. Where are you going and who are you taking with you?
A: I am going to the Bahamas with my friends Trenton, Mitch and Eddie.
Q: It’s favorites time! What’s your favorite movie?
A: “Safe Haven.”
Q: Favorite TV show?
A: “One Tree Hill.”
Q: Favorite video game and video game system?
A: “NHL 16” on the XBox One.
Q: Favorite aspect of Appleton North high school?
A: Sporting events.
Q: Favorite celebrity dream date?
A: Selena Gomez.

A: Mike Stud.
Q: Favorite place to vacation?

Q: Congratulations!! You just won $300 million in the PowerBall! What are the first three things you’re buying with the money?
A: A beach house somewhere in Florida for my parents, a new sports car and my own plane.
Q: What’s the next step for you? Are you continuing your hockey career anywhere?
A: I would like to continue to play hockey. I will most likely play juniors next year and then see how it goes from there.
