Franklin Township superintendent Flora Reichanadter said in a message to the Star that the school board will have a statement next week on the status of the athletic director position at Franklin Central.
Franklin Central athletic director and football coach Burt Austin was placed on administrative leave in February as the school conducted an investigation into allegations regarding player safety. Austin, a former star player at Franklin Central in the early 1980s, is 14-28 in four seasons at the school.
“The board of FTCSC will be making a statement early next week regarding our athletic director,” Reichanadter said in an e-mail to the Star.
