Goals came in droves Friday as state-ranked Romeo, ranked No. 6 in Division 2, scored three times in each period Friday to beat host White Lake Lakeland at the Lakeland Ice Arena.
The Bullodogs, who improved their boys hockey record to 5-0 overall, got two goals each from Jake Petri and Nick Blackenburg.
Meanwhile, Luke Kaczor, Logan Jenuwine and Frank Ruffino chipped in with one goal and two assists each. Brett Lanoki and Blake Gabler completed the Romeo scoring.
Lakeland (3-3-1), which trailed 3-1 after one period and 6-3 after two, got goals from Travis Gragg (short-handed), Bryant Cohen (unassisted), Blake Kocsis and Brenden Lemp.
Assists went to Brendan Ramboer, Rickey Rayner, Hunter Overall, Nick Langley and Spencer Sienkiwicz.
Lakeland goaltender Austin Gogola maded 39 saves, while Romeo’s Nolan Kare had 24 stops.
PINCKNEY 3, MILFORD 1: Eddie Roberts notched two goals and added an assist Saturday propelling the host Pirates (2-5, 1-3) to a KLAA West Division triumph over the Mavericks (1-8, 1-5) in a game played at Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea.
Connor Smith chipped in with a goal and two assists for Pinckney, which scored twice in the final period to break a 1-all deadlock and pull out the victory.
Jake Pobur scored for the Mavericks in the second period assited by Michael Osinski.
Milford goaltender Vinnie Szerlag made 39-of-42 saves, while Nick Lefebvre had 46 saves for Pinckney.
NOVI 6, SOUTH LYON 2: Brennan Martin tallied a pair of goals Saturday as the Wildcats (2-5, 1-4) snapped a five-game losing streak with a KLAA Central Division victory over South Lyon Unified (3-5, 1-3) at Novi Ice Arena.
Ryan Fonda (power play) and Ryan Wexler each added a goal and assist, while David DeNova and Andy Mizerowski also tallied goals for Novi, which led 3-1 after one period and 5-2 after two.
Zach Perpich also contributed two assists, while Jake Cyr and Anthony Luongo added one apiece.
Novi goalie Josh Richardson had to make just nine saves.
South Lyon got a first-period goal from Charles Nelson off an assist from Garret Weyh. In the second, Joseph Watson scored from Zachary Vanboven.
South Lyon goalie Jared Paugh made 25 saves.
LAKELAND 8, ROYAL OAK 3: Brendan Ramboer notched a hat trick Dec. 9 as White Lake Lakeland (3-2-1) handed the host Ravens (4-1-1) their first defeat of the season at Lindell Arena.
The Eagles also got two goals and one assist from Blake Kocsis, along with a goal and three assists from Bryant Cohen.
Also getting into the act was Kyle Soderlund (three assists), Hunter Overall (one goal, one assist) and Brendan Lemp (one goal, one assist).
STEVENSON 7, SOUTH LYON 1: Nate Sudek tallied two goals and an assist leading Livonia Stevenson (5-2, 4-0) to a KLAA Central Division triumph Dec. 9 over host South Lyon Unified (3-4, 1-2) at the Kensington Valley Ice House.
Stevenson built a 4-0 lead through two periods and put it away with three goals in the final 17 minutes.
Shane Leonard, Joe Alcantara and Justin Alton also chipped in with a goal and assist for the victorious Spartans. Nick Beers and Jake Beaune also added goals, while Ben Kowalske collected two assists.
Sean Millane’s goal from Joe Watson and Shane Agnello accounted for South Lyon’s lone tally in the final period.
WATERFORD 4, MILFORD 1: Zach Perry notched two goals and one assist to propel Waterford United (1-3-1, 1-1 KLAA North) to a Lakes Conference crossover win Dec. 9 over the Mavericks (1-7, 1-5) at Lakeland Ice Arena.
Nick Kettenbeil and Aaron Larvick each added a goal for Waterford, which led 2-0 after one period and 3-0 after two. Michael Croff also chipped in with two assists.
Trailing 3-0 with only minutes left in the tight-checking game, Milford senior Dillon Tierney finally broke the ice on the Maverick’s 18th shot drawing assists from sophomoresDaniel Onofrio and Tyler Conklin.
Down by two, Milford coach Hugh Pobur pulled starting junior goaltender Vinnie Szerlag for the extra attacker and got an empty netter to put the game out of reach.
Szerlag made 23 saves, while Waterford’s Billy Racz stoopped 21 shots.
