Steve Stonebraker has been named the new football coach at Jeffersontown.
Stonebraker was the head coach at Woodford County the past five seasons, posting a 16-36 record. He previously was the head coach at Garrard County and Casey County and an assistant coach at Centre College.
Stonebraker, 40, is a Warren Central High School product and later played at Union (Ky.) College.
Athletic director Gary Weiter took over the J’town program last September after Nathan Jones stepped down. The Chargers finished 1-10.
J’town will move from Class 5-A to Class 6-A, District Four next season, joining Ballard, Eastern, Seneca and Trinity.
“It’s a heck of a challenge with the new alignment,” Stonebraker said. “But it’s a positive, too. It’s a great time to be at J’town because we’re going to have the opportunity to do some things we haven’t done before.”
