Steyer, Gallogly earn key victory for Port Clinton

Taylor Steyer and Meghan Gallogly (No. 1 doubles) rebounded for a key victory Thursday as Port Clinton’s tennis team defeated Norwalk 3-2 in a non-conference matchup.

Steyer and Gallogly won in three sets while Alyssa Krupp (No. 1 singles) and Kelsey Dietrich (No. 2) won in straight sets for the Redskins (3-0). Dietrich dropped only one game and Krupp two.

“This was a great win for us,” Port Clinton coach Lindsay Dunn said. “We haven’t defeated Norwalk in a few years. Taylor and Meghan had to dig deep for their win. They were down 5-4 in the third set and stepped up their game to win the next three games.

“It was great to see the fight in them. Alyssa and Kelsey continue to be a solid one-two punch.”
