USATODAYhss.com/Cleveland is proud to introduce a new feature titled “Student-athlete Shout out.” Each installment will spotlight the recent accomplishments of a deserving Northeast Ohio high school athlete.
Canton South’s DJ Wilson
Canton South senior outfielder DJ Wilson has starred on the baseball diamond since his freshman year and this season is no exception.
The three-time All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference selection and Vanderbilt University signee posted a .535 batting average and scored 22 runs in the Wildcats’ first 13 games.
Wilson, a 2014 all-state selection, has helped Canton South win the NBC title and a district championship each of the past three seasons. He is expected to be a high-round pick in this June’s Major League Baseball Draft.
