Super 25 Game of the Day: No. 1 Oak Hill Academy vs. No. 13 Sierra Canyon

The Matchup: No. 1 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) vs. No. 13 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) at Mater Dei High School at 7:00 p.m. PST.

Oak Hill players to watch: You’ve read this before, and recently, but hey, Oak Hill is No. 1 for a reason. Yes, Oak Hill is still loaded with talent. Shooting guard Dwayne Bacon, is a five-star Florida State signee and a top-1o overall prospect in the Class of 2015. Point guard Terrence Phillips, a Missouri commit, is the great facilitator who also can score a big bucket. Ohio State signee Daniel Giddens is a stud on the interior at 6-foot-10.

Sierra Canyon players to watch: Devearl Ramsey, a junior Arizona State commit, is the Trailblazers’ point guard extraordinaire. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound mighty mite can score off the dribble. Sophomores, Cody Riley is among the most sought-after members of the Class of 2017 and classmate guard Remy Martin (yes, really, Remy Martin) is also an impressive scorer.

What to expect: If nothing else, we are finding out in a hurry if Sierra Canyon is for real. Back-to-back weekends with games against Super 25 ranked foes will do that. Sierra Canyon lost 64-47 to unbeaten No. 3 Fairfax last weekend in the State Preview Classic. Cody Riley and Daniel Giddens come with enormous potential, and either could be the difference maker in the faceoff, or the goat. A win here would also vault Sierra Canyon toward the top of the Super 25. Meanwhile, every game is a huge one for Oak Hill if it hopes to land a national title. Bacon coming through as he did in the game below would go a long way toward sealing that win for Oak Hill.
