USA TODAY High School Sports will reveal the preseason Super 25 football rankings as part of “Super 25 in 25,” with one team revealed each hour beginning Monday at 8 a.m. ET and continuing through Tuesday.
Check out the 25 teams as they are revealed or teams that have already been revealed here.
No. 13: ST. JOHN BOSCO
Location: Bellflower, Calif.
2014 record: 12-2
Final 2014 Super 25: 38
The Braves’ defense, led by the senior secondary duo of Traveon Beck and D.J. Morgan, will be likely improved. Beck, a senior Cal commit, had 97 tackles and three interceptions last season. Morgan (112 tackles, two fumble recoveries) is getting looks from big-time programs as well.
Offensively, senior RB Sean McGrew (1,814 yards and 28 TDs), a Washington commit, is a key player, along with WR Jared Harrell and OL Wyatt Davis. With Josh Rosen competing for the starting job at UCLA, senior Quentin Davis, gets his chance to show what he can do at quarterback. Sophomore Re-al Mitchell could also see time under center.
Key games include Sept. 11 vs. two-time defending Oregon state 6A champion Central Catholic (Portland, Ore.) in Hillsboro, Ore., and Sept. 26 vs. St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey City) in the Centennial Classic in Ramsey, N.J. And that doesn’t include the always difficult Trinity League schedule.
