UPDATED, 3:30 ET Saturday

Cam’ron Matthews is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

FROM FRIDAY

An East Texas football player suffered a seizure on the sideline with less than a minute remaining in the first half of Friday night’s game and was flown by helicopter to an ambulance, according to TEGNA partner CBS19 and other reports.

CPR was performed on Alto High junior Cam’ron Matthews before he was transported to the hospital.

According to MyEastTex.com, it is unclear if Matthews was involved in the play before the seizure occurred. Carlisle (Price, Texas) had just scored a touchdown. But KLTV reported that Matthews told teammates in the huddle that he felt dizzy.

The remainder of the game was postponed with 12 remaining in the half and Alto leading 21-7.
