What CV Students Think of the Leading GOP Contender
Donald J. Trump astonishingly rose to the top of most Republican presidential polls over the Summer, and has continued that trend into the end of 2015, and going into 2016. In the latest poll released by RealClearPolitics, Trump holds 27% support among likely GOP primary voters. The first GOP primary election is just two months away.
Students were asked what they thought of Trump, and whether he should be elected. One student, Stanislav Davyda explained that “Trump is changing the political landscape, and is putting America on a direction it has never seen before.” He continued with “I would definitely support a Trump presidency.” Other students like Mia Piazza support Trump as well, saying “Trump is the man; way better than Hillary.”
However, the support is not positive all around. Some students feel Trump should not be elected, and if he were, it would be a disaster. Mark Kelly explained by saying “Trump represents everything that is wrong with America and it would be a disaster if he won.” He continued saying “We need a proven leader who will be strong against ISIS and be able to fix our economy.” Other students like Sean McCrerey continued in Kelly’s thoughts saying “Trump is too rude and obnoxious to be the leader of such a large and important country; we need someone who is calm and collective, and will be a civil leader.”
The question definitely becomes will support grow or decrease for Trump at Chartiers Valley? It seems to be divided right now. Though I have seen a few Trump shirts and hoodies, I have also heard much negative talk about him. We just have to wait to see what happens.
