Muhammed Zahr

Dearborn Fordson

6-1, SENIOR GUARD

A captain and two-year starter, Zahr averaged 26 points, eight boards and three steals in a stellar senior season. Set school records for points in a game (50) and in a season (631).

Coach Osama Abulhassan: “Muhammed is one of the fiercest competitors we’ve had here, and he never shied away from making the big plays. His confidence and competitive edge made him our best player in a long time.”

Jaylin Walker

Romulus

6-2, Sr. G

A two-year starter, he blossomed into an offensive scoring machine this season, averaging 22 points and seven rebounds in leading Romulus to the Western Wayne title. He was a consistent perimeter shooter, and was dangerous in transition and on drives to the basket. Signed with Kent State.

Coach Jerret Smith: “It’s his work ethic. He worked hard every possession and every play. His athleticism is very good around the rim. And he can shoot it. He had a 44-point game, so he can fill the basket up. This year he was the center point of the offense, and he did very well.”

Michael Edwards

Westland Glenn

6-9, Sr. C (captain)

Edwards averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and two steals. Posted career highs of 20 rebounds in one game and eight blocks in another.

Coach Rod Watts: “Most improvement of any player I’ve ever coached. To go from where he was last year to where he is now, credit his work ethic.”

Greg Williams

Canton

6-3, Sr. G

A four-year starter and two-time captain, Williams averaged 21.5 points, four boards, 3.5 assists and two steals, shooting 41% from long range. Led the Chiefs to the KLAA South title and a 16-6 record.

Coach Jimmy Reddy: “He has an outstanding skill set and a very high basketball IQ. He did so much for us at both ends of the floor this year and is the best leader we have ever had at Canton.”

LaMonta Stone II

River Rouge

5-8, Sr. G

A three-year starter and career assists leader at Bowling Green High (Ohio), Stone II followed his father to River Rouge and led the Panthers to conference and district titles. The Eastern Michigan commit averaged 21 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals.

Coach LaMonta Stone: “LaMonta II is an exceptional ball handler. He plays his best basketball when he puts pressure on the defense, creating scoring opportunities for himself or teammates.”
