A Washington state high school got an unexpected visitor on Tuesday when a moose decided to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and take a relaxing stroll through its athletic fields. North Central High School, in Spokane, was the site of the unexpected, large mammal sighting, with Spokane ABC affiliate KXLY reporter Casey Lund catching the animal in action.
“In action” might be too strong an operative phrase. He caught the animal mid-amble, which is fine for a moose. A moose gets to travel at its own speed, to its own chosen destination. You do not stop the moose. It passes right by “Go” and you give it the $200 of Monopoly money.
There’s no record of prior on-campus moose sightings, so this may go in the ledger as the first. Hopefully it will be the last, though it does make for an interesting snap for North Central students to throw on Instagram.
