Remember the story about the feral hogs that were tearing up a Texas football field. They’re in cages, folks!
That’s right. Days after the Liberty football field was found torn asunder by foraging feral hogs, a company called Deep South Trapping captured the family of hogs that were destroying the field. According to MaxPreps reporter Stephen Spiewak, Deep South captured a total of seven hogs that varied in weight from 40 to 90 pounds, all of whom were removed and were scheduled to be sent to slaughter in the days ahead.

It appears that the problem may have been cut off just in time, if the prognostications of Deep South’s Steve Horelica are to be believed, as he told Gannett partner KHOU TV in Houston.
“Under the right conditions, left unchecked, in four months the population can double,” said Horelica. “They’re very leery and very smart. They learn very quick. But I think by Monday we’re going to have the group.”
