Bedford North Lawrence girls’ basketball team seniors Dominique McBryde, Jenna Allen and Alexa Bailey have been nominated for the annual McDonald’s All-American Game on April 1 at the United Center in Chicago.
McBryde, a Purdue recruit, leads the top-ranked Stars (17-0) in scoring at 20.8 points per game. Allen, destined for Michigan State, is averaging 15.8 points and ranks among the state leaders in rebounds at 12.6. Bailey, a Butler recruit who missed 11 games with a hamstring injury, is averaging 7.7 points.
Other players nominated from Indiana include South Bend Washington’s Camille Coleman and Tiara Murphy; Lawrence North’s Lamina Cooper; Merrillville’s Victoria Gaines; Fort Wayne Canterbury’s Darby Maggard; Columbus North’s Ali Patberg; and Pike’s Brittany Ward.
Girls’ basketball games to watch: On Saturday, Class 4-A No.1 BNL (17-0) at Floyd Central (7-10) at 2:30 p.m.; Columbus East (8-7) at New Albany (11-5) at 1 p.m.; Seymour (11-4) at Borden (8-4) at 1:30 p.m.; and Jennings County (10-4) at Brownstown (13-3) at noon.
