Boys basketball: Auburndale at Columbus Catholic, 7:30 p.m. Monday: The Dons offense has been downright explosive so far this season with one triple digit game, a 101-85 victory over University School at the Cranberry Classic. Junior Hunter Schultz is averaging 25 points per game and senior Evan Nikolai 18 to lead the Dons. Auburndale, a Division 4 state semifinalist last year, is 1-0 with a win over Athens. Luke Olson, Christian Firnstahl and Caleb Weinfurther all average at least 10 points a game.
Girls basketball: Colby at Owen-Withee, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday: The Blackhawks are 3-0 with wins over Thorp, Granton and Neillsville and are led by Whitney Baehr, who averages 22 points a game. The Hornets have beaten Granton and Gilman and have losses to Spencer and Stratford. Samantha Hayes leads Colby in the scoring department by averaging just shy of 15 points per game.
Basketball: Marshfield at SPASH, 6 p.m. (girls) and 7:45 p.m. (boys), Friday, SPASH Fieldhouse: The doubleheader will mark the opening of the Wisconsin Valley Conference season for the defending Division 1 state champion Panthers. SPASH is off to a 3-0 start this season after an 80-55 win over previously unbeaten Milwaukee Riverside. Meanwhile, the early matchup on the girls side will give the 4-0 Tigers a chance to go up 2-0 in the league and continue their hot start.
