Timberline lacrosse players to play on the national stage

BOISE — One week ago, the Timberline Wolves knocked off the Eagle Mustangs in the 5A D1 state lacrosse championship.

This summer, a trio of Wolves will soon test their skills against some of the best players in the nation.

Midfielder Drake O’Neill and defenseman Blake Branscombe will each spend the summer in Denver, Colorado playing for the Denver Elite, while goalie Cade Talbert will travel with the West Coast Starz, one of the top lacrosse club teams in the nation.

For O’Neill and Talbert, this experience more than gaining new skills. It’s a chance to show college recruiters to start looking at players west of the Mississippi River.

Both the West Coast Starz and Denver Elite will travel east during the summer season.

In the last four years, 58 players from the Denver Elite have earned Division I scholarships.
