Dean Rotger completed 14 of 17 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns and senior Luke Timm hauled in 12 catches for a career-high 241 yards and two touchdowns as the Our Lady of Lourdes football team beat John Jay Cross River, 56-15, on Saturday night.
Timm returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, then on Lourdes’ first drive, he had a 29-yard touchdown pass. He also caught a 71-yard touchdown in the second quarter, helping stake the Warriors to a 35-3 lead at halftime.
Billy Riccardi ran for 98 yards and three touchdowns and Corey Mullaly had a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown.
Liam McGhee had two sacks, and Chris Mulvey, Cameron Jones, Sean McDowell and Kenny Rogan each had a sack for Lourdes (4-2). Timm and Joe Scaglione each had an interception.
“We were both 3-2, so this was a big win for us,” Lourdes coach Brian Walsh said. “Coming off a loss last week, we needed to do well. Our defense did a really good job.”
The Warriors will play an opponent to be determined next week in the Section 1 playoff qualifier round. The seeding and matchups for that will be decided on Sunday.
