With the postseason kicking off for most of the top teams, No. 1 through No. 10 remain unchanged in the USA TODAY High School Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Super 25.
For the ninth week in a row Mission Viejo (Calif.) remains atop the rankings after picking up a pair of victories last week. The Diablos are led by star pitcher Taylor McQuillin, who now is just three wins away from the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section record for victories by a pitcher (100).
No. 13 Newsome (Lithia, Fla.) and No. 17 Tate (Cantonment, Fla.) captured the Florida 8A and 7A championships, respectively, propelling them both into the top 25 for the first time this season.
Also jumping into the rankings this week are No. 21 Bishop O’Connell (Arlington, Va.), No. 23 Kaukauna (Wisc.) and No. 25 St. John Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.).
Dropping out of the Super 25 this week were Canyon (New Braunfels, Texas), Hagerty (Oviedo, Fla.), American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.), Orange Lutheran (Calif.) and Eagle (Idaho).
