Kwe Parker has earned headlines for multiple years as one of the most explosive dunkers in the nation, regardless of age or experience. Now we know that highlight reel is on the move from North Carolina to Rutgers.
Parker announced that he was committing to Rutgers on Sunday, ending a courtship that included a major push from the likes of Wake Forest, Florida and Florida State. In the end, it was apparently Eddie Jordan’s personal touch that swayed Parker toward the Scarlet Knights
The pledge is a big one for Rutgers, where Parker is sure to get a less crowded path to the court than he might have encountered at Florida State or another national power, had he held out for more scholarship offers from the likes of in-state powers North Carolina or Duke.
Instead, he’s headed north to New Jersey, which is good news for Rutgers, the Big 10 and ESPN. Why? The trip from Bristol is a lot shorter to Piscataway than it is to North Carolina or Florida.
