Former Arkansas Razorback, Mountain Home Bomber and Norfork Panther Trey Killian is 1-1 on the season after surrendering three runs over five innings on the mound Thursday night in the Grand Junction Rockies’ 6-5 loss to the Orem Owlz in Orem, Utah.
Killian’s start was his first with the Colorado Rockies’ Rookie League squad, which is a member of the eight-team Pioneer League.
Killian pitched five innings of stellar relief last week when he picked up his first career professional victory. The right-hander struck out four and allowed just four hits and no runs against Idaho Falls in the relief appearance.
Against Orem, Killian allowed five hits, three earned runs and one walk while striking out one batter. The ninth-round draft pick holds a 2.70 earned run average over 10 innings pitched.
Grand Junction currently trails Orem by five games in the south division of the league standings.
