JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time in over a decade the Trinity Christian Conquerors are baseball district champions.
Trinity Christian used a 14-0 run to top Bolles, 17-3, in the District 3-4A championship game, Thursday night, at Huge W. Donovan Field on the campus of Bolles high school.
Trinity Christian jumped out quick, using a three-run homerun by Andrew Williamson in first inning to take a 3-0 lead. However, Bolles would answer, manufacturing three runs of their own in the bottom of the bottom of the third inning.
From that point on it was all Trinity. One run in the fourth gave them the go ahead and eventually winning run. Three runs in the fifth gave them some breathing room, and 10 runs in the sixth blew the door off the game.
Trinity Christian and Bolles both advance to Region 1-4A quarterfinals. Both games are set for Wednesday. Trinity will take on Yulee, while Bolles will play West Nassau.
