LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — A Trinity junior has won the national championship wrestling in his weight class.
Tyler Frankrone competed in Virginia Beach over the weekend and won the National High School Coaches Association National Wrestling Title in the 182-pound division.
Frankrone has taken home the state championship trophy three times in elementary school, twice in middle school and has now won twice while in high school . . . all while maintaining a 3.87 GPA.
According to Frankrone’s dad, Mike, Tyler is now in the recruitment radar of top wrestling school such as Iowa St, Minnesota, Old Dominion, and Virginia, adding he has also been personally contacted by Princeton University.
