Trinity won five straight games over Montgomery Academy from 2008-12, but the last two years MA has come away with the victory. Wildcats senior receiver Robert Adams wants to change that when the rivals meet again this Friday.
“I would love to beat them, senior year especially. Go out with a bang,” Adams said. “I know they’re thinking the same thing. We’re both going to play as hard as we can, and I guess the best team will come out on top.”
Adams – 6-foot-3, 190 pounds – is far and away Trinity’s leading receiver with 22 catches for 531 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He’s caught for at least 60 yards and a touchdown in each game, and has three 100-yard games.
While Adams’ is Trinity’s best offensive weapon, coach Randy Ragsdale said it’ll need to be a team effort to get past the Eagles.
“We’re a team that has to do the little things right. We have to step the right way, we’ve got to stick the right way, we’ve got to tackle the right way, we’ve got to do the kicking game the right way. If we don’t do those little things, than we’re not going to be as successful as we need to be,” Ragsdale said.
