Christ Presbyterian Academy junior Siarra Stout is looking to repeat as Class A-AA state champion this year.
It’s that time of year again.
Starting Tuesday, the state’s top golfers will take the next step in pursuit of a championship as the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association state golf tournaments tee off.
Class AAA kicks off the action Tuesday at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester.
Brentwood High’s boys team will look to take the next step after falling to Farragut by three strokes in last year’s state tournament.
It will not be an easy task for the Bruins after losing their top golfer from a year ago, Cameron Smith, who finished second in the individual state championship behind Hendersonville’s Jacob Sherlin.
Brentwood and Hendersonville both have five golfers in this year’s tournament. All 10 will be in groups 12-16 on Monday. Brentwood’s Eli Charron and Hendersonville’s Jay Welch will get the two schools started with a 9:50 a.m. tee time.
The Division II boys and girls will battle for state titles on Oct. 5-6, while Class A-AA will play Oct. 13-14. Those tournaments will be held at WillowBrook Golf Club as well.
