Several local high school athletes signed Wednesday to play college sports.
Rocky Mountain’s Wesley Bannister signed her National Letter of Intent to play women’s basketball at Colorado Mesa University. Bannister averaged 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds as a senior with the Lobos.
Fossil Ridge’s Lucas Martin signed his NLI to play boys tennis at Colorado Mesa University. Martin was the SaberCats No. 1 singles player as a sophomore, junior and senior and co-captain his last two years.
Fossil Ridge grls swimmer Riley Hoffman will attend Claremont. Hoffman finished sixth in Class 5A in the 200 free at state and was part of the 400 free relay team that finished first, helping the SaberCats win the 5A title.
Fossil Ridge’s Marah Guzman signed with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for cross country and track. Guzman finished 62nd at the 5A state cross country meet and is ranked 32nd in 5A in the 800-meter run and 38th in the 1,600 in track.
Poudre’s Preston Roche signed to run track at the Air Force Academy. Roche finished eighth in the 400 in 5A at state last year.
