Two Hillsboro wrestlers took home individual state titles at the OSAA 5A wrestling state championships on Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Javien Rodriguez won by an 11-4 decision over Crater’s Zeth Brower in the 106 pound division.

Peyton Bell lived up to his No. 1 seed with an 8-1 decision victory over Hermiston’s Liam Tarvin in the 113 pound weight class.

The Spartans qualified five wrestlers into state championship matches. However, Matt Peterson (120), TJ Cavender (182) and Ben Kociemba (220) loss in their championship matches.

The Spartans finished second as a team with 154.5 points, falling just short of Hermiston’s 161 points.

David Douglas' Andrew Cha (black) defeated Cleveland's Anteneh Demissie for the 106 pound title.
