UCLA coach Jim Mora comments on arrest of recruit Soso Jamabo

By

On Sunday, hours after Plano (Texas) West football star and UCLA signee Soso Jamabo was arrested for evading police with a vehicle, UCLA Associate Athletic Director for Communications Josh Rupprecht said in a statement that the school was aware of Jamabo’s arrest and declined further comment.

Coach Jim Mora met with the media after a spring practice this week and said he did not yet have enough information to comment when asked if the arrest would impact Jamabo’s status with the program

“At this time, I can’t expand further on the comment that we already made,” Mora said, according to The Orange County Register. “It just wouldn’t be fair for me to do so. I don’t know enough.”

Jamabo was released on $7,500 bond Sunday. He was given written warnings for minor consumption and possession of alcohol, speeding, disregarding a stop sign and not having his license with him.

Police have declined to release the dashboard video of the arrest at the direction of the district attorney’s office in Kaufman County.
