
Corona del Sol freshman Marvin Bagley III is one of 27 players named to USA Basketball’s Junior National Team.
USA Basketball named 27 players to the 2015-16 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team on Thursday. From that group, 12 players will be named for the USA U16 National Team for the FIBA Americas U16 Championship, following a team training camp May 28-June 6 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
According to Future 150’s composite rankings, the players named include the No. 1 through No. 4 players in the 2018 class, respectively, in Montverde (Fla.) Academy forward E.J. Montgomery; Corona del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.) forward Marvin Bagley III; Woodcreek (Roseville, Calif.) forward Jordan Brown; and Nazreon Reid, a forward for Roselle (N.J.) Catholic. The lists also includes 247Sports.com’s composite No. 3, No. 4 and No. 7 players in the 2017 class, respectively, in Troy Brown, a guard from Centennial (Las Vegas); Jarred Vanderbilt, a forward from Victory Prep (Houston) and Wendell Carter Jr. of Pace Academy (Atlanta).

“We had most of these guys out last October for our USA Junior National Team mini-camp and overall we’ve got a really good combination of good bigs who are very skilled, some good shooters and some very good point guards,” said USA head coach Don Showalter of Iowa City Iowa, in a USA Basketball release. “So, we have a really good combination of players. This will be a good group to work with over the next couple of years, and I like our chances at the U16s with these guys.”
