A’ja Wilson’s star continued to shine Sunday when she led the FIBA U19 United States team to a 78-70 win over Russia to claim the FIBA World Championship.

The South Carolina rising sophomore score 30 points, the most ever scored in a FIBA World Championship game. She was also named the tournament’s most valuable player.

Wilson also had eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot in the contest.

USA coach Dawn Staley also continued her superior performance on the bench, as she improved her record to 21-0 in international competition as head coach.
