Beginning Thursday, July 30, all Lohud high school sports blogs will move from their current web addresses to lohud.com. If you have the current address bookmarked, you’ll be automatically redirected to the new location, starting Thursday, at about 3 p.m.
The objective of this change is to integrate all of our products into one system that will make for a more convenient experience for our readers. Rather than sift through lohud.com for game stories and then flip back to the blog for schedules, recaps, and other posts, readers can now find all of our sports and news coverage in one place — all on lohud.com.
We wanted to make this change before the school year, so that you have time to adjust to the new format between now and the start of the upcoming fall season on August 17.
We’re sure you’ll have some questions, so please feel free to email me at email@example.com and I’ll be happy to offer any help I can. Please do not hesitate to offer any suggestions for the upcoming seasons — new things you’d like to see on the blogs, things you’d like to see more of, etc.
Here are some of the more frequent questions we expect to be asked, along with answers:
Will I have to pay to read the blogs? Yes. A digital subscription for $29/year gets you unlimited access to every high school blog and all of lohud.com, which includes breaking news, features and additional sports coverage from across Rockland, Westchester and Putnam counties. Non-subscribers will have limited access — 10 posts a month. You do not need to pay if you click on a link through social media. (One of the many reasons why I’d suggest liking our page on Facebook and following us on Twitter @lohudsports.)
What if I already subscribe to lohud.com? If you already pay for access to lohud.com, you have nothing to worry about. Your current subscription cost will include all blog-related content.
Will I still be able to comment on the blogs? Yes, but we’ll be using Facebook’s commenting system instead of a separate log-in. Simply comment using your Facebook account and choose whether to also share that comment with your Facebook friends. Anonymous commenting will no longer be permitted.
