It’s not every day that a team successfully pulls off a truly classic trick play, but Concord High in California isn’t like most squads, either.
The Minutemen received a kickoff from Oakland in a one-sided Bay Area faceoff. When receiving a kickoff, Concord decided to add in a bit of deception, getting the back men on the return unit to gather together before splintering off and out with just one man holding the ball. The trick was executed almost perfectly, with Leandre Jones taking the ball and sprinting up the right sideline en route to the end zone.
The touchdown delivered six of the 56 points scored by Concord in the 56-6 victory, with the Minutemen improving to 3-1 with the win. Perhaps more notably, the moved to the front of the cue when it comes to best trick plays of the season as well.
