This is going to be pretty hard to top.
In a tight matchup against state power Cherry Creek, Grandview High lacrosse attack star Cooper Snowbarger was scrambling after a loose ball in front of the opposing goalmouth when he slipped and fell to him bum. He didn’t stop, or even slow. Instead, he scooped, rotated his torso and lifted in an instinctive rebound attempt that soared right over the right shoulder of the Cherry Creek goalie.
Apparently the goal only got more embarrassing for the Cherry Creek keeper from there. According to the Instagram user who posted the video, Powlax, the unspecified goalie was so incensed by allowing the goal that he punched the ground twice in rapid succession, breaking his hand in the process.
Well, we don’t know if he broke a bone in his hand, but we do know that he left the game and put ice on his hand. Two + two might have very well = a broken hand in this case. Certainly makes sense given the immediate icing.
In the end, Snow’s goal couldn’t save Grandview, which was doubled up by top-ranked Cheery Creek, 20-10. No matter, because no one on the Cherry Creek roster will ever put in a goal as impressive as Snow’s. It will be hard for anyone to, at any level.
