Scott Meredith is an unsigned postgraduate senior at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia. After the night he recently put in against Combine Academy, he may not be unsigned for much longer.
On Wednesday, Meredith hit an astounding 18 three-pointers while racking up 55 total points in Hargrave’s 131-80 victory against Combine. The 55 points were a school record for the Virginia academy, while his 18 threes came on 18-of-31 shooting from behind the arc, pushing Hargrave to 28-5 on the season in the process.
“He was just on fire,” Hargrave head coach A.W. Hamilton told MaxPreps. “He hit three or four in a row to start and I told our guys we were going to ride this thing until he cools down. He really never did.
“He’s not going to wow you or go out there and dunk but the more you are around him the more you fall in love with him. The kid has a 5.0 GPA and he’s never made a B in his life. He’s fun to be around, just a special person.”
Meredith is also one heck of a streak shooter, as he showcased against Combine Academy. Some college program will get that hot hand next season, and any team that thinks they can’t use Meredith’s deft touch better have one heck of a depth chart at the two guard positions.
