Kobe Paras has made a bit of a habit out of excelling in prep hoops dunk contests. Just more than a month after capturing the FIBA 3×3 World Championships dunk contest for the Phillipines, Paras threw home the scene stealing dunk from the Adidas Nations event, soaring over 6-foot-8 twin towers Edrice “Bam” Adebayo and Billy Preston as a crowd of onlookers watched on, mouths agape.
Paras, a UCLA commit from Cathedral High in Los Angeles, was one of the runaway standouts at the Adidas Nations event. He finished as his squad’s leading scorer and rebounder, with 17.5 points and six rebounds per contest, all while receiving constant double-teams and traps as his Team Nations Select squad struggled throughout.
No matter. Paras proved yet again that he’s here to stay, and that UCLA fans will have a lot to look forward to, both during future seasons and, particularly, in the wild dunk contests that inevitably roll out at the team’s annual Midnight Madness event.
