Anointing anyone as the top high school dunker in the nation is a risky business and inexact science. Terrance Ferguson would be a strong choice if someone forced you to choose one rising senior.
The Vine you see at the top is from a recent practice, where Ferguson came flying through the lane and threw down, let’s see if we can get this right, a self-assisted, around-the-world tomahawk jam, all with his head at the rim. It’s an impressive feat.
Then there’s the entire highlight reel you see below, which was compiled during the course of his sophomore season at Prime Prep Academy. One could be forgiven for mistaking the season-long reel for an elongated slam dunk contest. Wow.
The thing that makes Ferguson’s dunking exploits stand out is the sheer elevation he gets every time he takes off.
Of course there are others who could stake a claim to the top dunker throne, though none may have the physical gifts of Ferguson.
