Coldwater (Ohio) brought along its bag of tricks to Friday’s Division V state championship game against Central Catholic (Canton), and it didn’t take long for the Cavaliers to break one out.

Early in the second quarter, quarterback Jack Hemmelgarn passed to Aaron Harlamert who lateraled to Kraig Schoenherr. That’s when things get good. Schoenherr makes two players miss, then somehow breaks through a wall of five Central Catholic defenders. He eventually gets caught from behind, but not before dishing out one last vicious stiff arm to send a defender to the turf. All in all it was 66 yards that set up Coldwater’s second touchdown in a game they would go on to win 35-18.

Although he played middle man on the hook and ladder, Harlamert had a highlight play of his own in the game, somehow reaching around a defender to haul in this 16-yard TD pass.

Harlamert finished with 142 receiving yards and two scores to help Coldwater to its fourth straight state crown.
