Much has been made of Meadville’s remarkable 107-90 victory against DuBois last Friday. Lost amongst the deserving hubbub about the final score and the remarkable game by Meadville running back Journey Brown (722 yards, 10 touchdowns) was the equally remarkable game put up by DuBois quarterback Matt Miller, who passed for 10 touchdowns and a national record 787 yards himself. And he did it all in his first ever varsity start.
Now we can see all of those Miller’s best highlights, not just the scoring plays, thanks to Hudl. They’re as impressive as you might expect, albeit against a defensive backfield that struggled to contain DuBois’ wide receivers. The most impressive part of Miller’s performance was just how accurate he was. Keep in mind: this is a sophomore, and he hardly ever missed any receivers.
DuBois is back in action at Linesville tonight, with Miller back under center for the second time. It’s certainly worth keeping an eye on how the anticipated follow-up to his remarkable debut goes.
