VIDEO: Wisconsin commit trucks over referee on powerful run in rival game

Antonio Williams is a high profile Wisconsin recruit, a dominant running back capable of carrying the load when needed or beating would-be tacklers to the edge. The North Stanly senior star is one of the most versatile running back prospects in the land, but even he falls prey to structural roadblocks … like referees.

Please note: This is NOT a story about another teen attacking a referee. It’s a story about a referee being unable to get out of the way of a play as it goes on. In this case, Williams decided to fight his way through a pair of West Stanly tacklers, only to run into a rather rotund referee who just happened to be smack dab in the middle of the field.

The brief setback didn’t have any larger consequences for North Stanly, which rolled to a 44-28 victory against West Stanly, but it did keep Williams from one big gain, though even that was pretty immaterial by game’s end; Williams finished the contest with 393 yards and six touchdowns, a new school rushing record.
