Clint Hess scored 32 points as Virginia City pulled away in the second half to take a 67-44 win over Mineral County in boys basketball Saturday in Virginia City.
Christian Lindsay added 21 points for the Muckers. They will be the No. 2 seed for the Division IV Regionals and will face Owyhee in a quarterfinal game on Thursday at Spring Creek.
Virginia City led, 28-23 at halftime.
Tyshawn Bonner led the Serpents with 18 points and Taylen Wachsmuth added 11. They will be the No. 3 seed and will face McDermitt in a quarterfinal game on Thursday, also at Spring Creek.
LOWRY 56, ELKO 47 at Elko: Alyssa Dendary scored 20 points and Kylee McClellan added eight for the Buckaroos.
Alicia Marin led Elko with 12 points.
Lowry will be the top seed for the Division I-A Regional playoffs which start Friday at Fallon. Lowry will face Spring Creek and Elko will play Fallon.
VIRGINIA CITY 40 MINERAL COUINTY 28 at Virginia City: Nicole Huffman scored 16 points and Niki D’Agostino added 12 to lead the Muckers. Virginia City will the No. 3 seed for the Division IV Regional playoffs, which start Thursday at Spring Creek.
Tamara McFalls led the Serpents with 16 points. Mineral County will be the No. 4 seed.
FERNLEY 36 TRUCKEE 34, OT at Truckee: Senior Lynsee Ferretto scored 21 points, including a 3-pointer to tie the game at the end of regulation.
Ferretto then scored two more in overtime and the Vaqueros made six three throws to get the win.
Sydney Mock led Truckee with 10 points.
In Friday’s 55-28 win over Dayton, Ferretto scored 27 points.
