CROSWELL – The Croswell-Lexington Pioneers volleyball team completed a perfect Blue Water Area Conference season Thursday with a 25-18, 25-23 and 25-11 victory over Armada.
The Pioneers finished the conference season 14-0 without losing a single set and improved to 35-15-7 overall.
Allessa Calamita had 14 service points, 12 digs and five kills to lead the Pioneers. Rachel Soper had 23 assists and eight digs, Lexie Davidson had 11 kills and nine digs.
Becca Oden had eight kills, Claire Knapp had 10 service receptions, five digs and five aces and Megan Jex had six digs, four serve receptions and two aces.
Laurel Shaw also added five digs and three serve receptions for the Pioneers.
“The girls played really well tonight against Armada, who has one of the single strongest players in the area (Kelsey Gustaffson),” Cros-Lex coach Ryan Wilson said. “We executed our game plan and adjusted really well to what Armada was doing.
“These girls set a goal at the start of the season to win the league and for them to do it without dropping a set really speaks to the determination they had all year. They have really earned this championship and should be proud of what the have accomplished and now we move forward toward districts.”
ALGONAC The Algonac volleyball team earned the BWAC victory on senior night. Grace Goldenbogen had two kills for Algonac.
