Chillicothe 3, McClain 0
After a huge win over Washington Court House Tuesday night on the road, Chillicothe returned home Thursday night and claimed another victory, over McClain; 25-10, 25-17 and 25-22.
The Cavaliers (10-7, 8-1 SCOL) were led by Lauren Price with nine kills and Malia Berry with six. Price also had five digs while Gabby Lapurga contributed 19 assists and six digs.
Chillicothe will be back in action Tuesday at East Clinton.
Huntington 3, Piketon 1
Huntington swept Piketon in the two’s first meeting this season. The Huntsmen got the same result Thursday night but in a different fashion.
Huntington beat Piketon in four sets; 25-18, 19-25, 25-15 and 25-18.
Rikki Magill led that charge with 17 digs, 11 kills, four aces and 11 assists. Dylana Gragg followed with an effort that included eight digs and 15 kills. Kennedy DeBord added nine digs, four kills and five assists and Carolane Cox finished with 18 digs.
For Piketon, Cami Chandler led all players with 20 kills and added 12 digs while Jordan Morris added 17 kills and 11 digs. Avery Reuter also chipped in with 18 digs and four aces.
Huntington (12-3, 6-2 SVC) will be back on the court Tuesday at home against Unioto while Piketon (5-8, 1-7 SVC) plays again Saturday in a Pike County quad match.
Westfall 3, Southeastern 0
Southeastern fell to Westfall Thursday night in a sweep; 25-21, 25-21 and 25-20.
The Mustangs (6-4, 5-3 SVC) were led by Darby Beavers who had 13 assists and two aces while Becca Brown finished with 14 digs. Hannah Phillips posted seven kills, nine assists and 14 digs.
For Southeastern (8-6, 2-6 SVC), it was once again Ella Skeens paving the way with 14 kills and 10 digs. Lauren Goebel added 15 assists and Bailey Barnes finished with five kills and five assists.
Westfall will now play in the Elgin Volleyball Classic while Southeastern travels to North Adams Monday.
Adena 3, Paint Valley 0
Paint Valley lost its eighth straight conference match this season, Thursday in a sweep at the hands of Adena; 25-14, 25-12 and 25-11.
The Warriors (14-2, 8-0 SVC) got an outstanding effort from Devon Putnam who posted 18 kills, three digs and an ace. Carissa Poehler added 10 kills and Lanie Shea dished out 34 assists.
Paint Valley (3-9, 0-8 SVC) was led by Lea McFadden with three kills, an ace and seven digs.
Adena will get back at it Tuesday, hosting Piketon, while Paint Valley travels to Fairfield, Saturday.
Waverly 3, Portsmouth West 1
Waverly continued its torrid hot streak Thursday with a four-set win over Portsmouth West; 26-24, 25-22, 20-25 and 25-21.
Maddie Bradley had 19 kills and 18 digs while Allison Dunn followed with 15 kills. Maddy Wiseman also did her part by digging out 17 balls and recording 39 assists.
The Tigers (10-2, 8-0 SOC) stay undefeated in their conference and will now move on to participate in a Pike County quad match, Saturday.
